This is the question we answer most often at Clean+Care. Someone calls and says 'I need a cleaning' — and 10 minutes in, we realize they need something very different from what they booked. Here's how to decide.
Standard cleaning in 30 seconds
Standard cleaning is the maintenance reset. If your home has been cleaned in the last month or so, standard cleaning is what you need. It's the bathrooms, the floors, the kitchen, the dusting, and the surface work that keeps a home looking consistent week to week.
Deep cleaning in 30 seconds
Deep cleaning is the foundation reset. It's 2-3x the time of a standard clean because it covers the stuff standard cleaning doesn't — baseboards, vents, behind appliances, inside ovens, grout, light fixtures, window sills, ceiling corners.
When you need deep cleaning
- Your home hasn't been professionally cleaned in 3+ months
- You're starting a recurring plan
- You're hosting guests for a holiday or event
- You just finished a renovation
- Something about the home just feels 'off' that standard cleaning won't fix
- You're preparing a home for sale
When standard cleaning is enough
- You're on a recurring plan and this is a maintenance visit
- You had a professional deep clean in the last 60 days
- You just want a quick refresh before company arrives
How to know which you need
Run your finger along a baseboard. If you pick up dust or grime, you need a deep clean. Open your oven. If it's been more than 6 months since it was cleaned, you need a deep clean. Look at the grout in your master bathroom. If it's a different color than it used to be, you need a deep clean.
Most of our new clients start with a deep clean, then roll into a recurring standard schedule. That's the sweet spot — reset the foundation, then maintain it.
